The media often times promises instant success, a magical rise to stardom. Who doesn’t want this? But if you think your rise to success will be without pitfalls, twists and turns, and ups and downs, it may be to easy to give up when you find your stomach in your throat. When you understand and embrace the Roller Coaster Effect, you know it’s just all part of the ride and sometimes you have to hold on tight.
The process in overcoming anxiety and reaching your positive performing potential isn’t a three step process to instant success, but an experimental roller coaster ride of ups and downs. Think of the process as entering a laboratory experiment. Then, play with different tools and techniques to find what works for you. Gradually, through time you will discover your unique set of skills to overcome performance anxiety and reach your peak performance.
Experiment and play with these key points:
- Keep your eye on the goal (great presentation, business success, stardom)
- Take risks, failure is just a dip on the ride.
- Know when to hold on tight and when to let go
- Be an “out of the box” mover and shaker
- Learn to laugh and cry
- Reach out for support along the way
- Let your voice be heard
- Breathe in love and compassion for yourself and others
- Perform and Live in the joy of being you.
- Let your hair fly loose
- Love the ride you’re on
