I am a strong believer of traditional teaching methods, however, I have learn that we all learn in different ways, so I let my students discover music by teaching them how to relate to the piano first, after they become familiar with the instrument by playing easy but wonderful melodies I start with the process of teaching music notation, scales, chords, analyzing songs, music history, exercises.

My name is Javier and I love to teach !
I believe music makes an individual happier and assists in intellectual growth. If you just want to learn 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' or pursue a professional career in music, you have to start with something and I would be more than glad to help you start in your new adventure.
So, here it is, a little bit about myself and my music background:
I am originally from Guanajuato, Mexico and in my last year of high school, I decided to take private piano lessons with a local teacher and it was during this time period that I learned classical pieces by Beethoven and Mozart. I also took music notation and I tried a hand at composing, discovering a new way to communicate in terms of music.
After moving to the USA, I resume my music education, learning new concepts on classical, blues and pop styles, as well as chord progression and accompaniment pieces. After a year and after completing the teacher training program, I started to teach piano from my home studio.
During this time, I took upon myself two more years of intense composition study and experimenting with some of the secrets of this art, which now has become one of my passion. In 2007 I earned a diploma from this institution and in the same year I released two CDs of my own compositions: Van Gogh Sunflower's and Dimes y Diretes.
This year I have enrolled in a music program at the Music Conservatory of San Francisco, where I am expecting to learn and expand my knowledge on technique, performing, and music ensembles.
For six years, I have been teaching successfully from my home studio, teaching students of all ages and with different music backgrounds.
