Description
As an experienced Arabic teacher, certified through the Egyptian Ministry of Education, I am prepared to meet a student at their level. I have studied linguistics and am prepared to explain English grammar toward an enhanced understanding of Arabic as a second language.
I have had over three years experience teaching Arabic to a multitude of pupils from varying backgrounds with an array of interests and skill sets. Classes are fun and informative. I move at a quick pace and expect students to struggle with some of the material but my goal is always to keep students with me and to help them master the material with comfort and at least near-native fluency in basic conversation and the fundamentals of Arabic reading and composition.
I have studied Arabic theoretical grammar and conducted a great deal of research in code-switching and code-mixing as well as translation and interpretation. I have examined the following linguistic areas with respect to Arabic in depth:
-Hemeto-Semitic Origins
-Lexical Valence
-Epenthetical Vowelation
-Euphonic Elision
-Colloquial Modes of Syncopation
-Diglossic Psycholinguistics
-Political Sociolinguistics of Arab Discourse
