Description
Classes will be at 12:30pm-02:35pm MW Rm2059 SecS3.
This course will survey the Art of Japan with an emphasis on the development of art throughout Japanese pre-historic to Modern eras. This class will use readings, images and field trips to the Seattle Asian Art Museum to give the student an introduction to the Painting, Sculpture, Architecture and Ceramics of Japan. Lectures will explore Japanese Art in the larger context of the unique flow of history, religion and culture in each Japanese time period. Prerequisite: English 101 (minimum grade: 2.0). Student Option Grading.
