Mountain Bike Basic Skills Class

Summer is on the way so we're gearing up to get you ready for a great riding season! In this class, you will master the skills you'll need to ride safely on single track trails. In addition, we'll teach you how to manage the slippery stuff, how to ride over slippery rocks, roots and logs. The best way to build a solid skill base is help you practice the skills and drills you'll learn in class on the trail.

Following the skills and drills portion of th eclass, our instructors will guide you through one of the local trail systems and provide you with the knowledge you'll need to find your way around. Below is an overview of the class. Families are welcome, under age children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian; there is no charge for kids under the age of 18 yrs.

LEARN TO RIDE! BACKCOUNTRY BICYCLE TRAILS CLUB is offing a great way to get started or to refresh your skills in mountain biking. The class is geared for all levels and ages; we welcome families, kids, individuals and groups. Learn pre-ride bike safety/maintenance, riding position and balance, shifting, braking, lines, cornering, descending, climbing, obstacles/log hopping; all packed into fun-filled 3 hour course.

Under age children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Helmets are mandatory, please have your bikes in good working order. Dress appropriately for the day; heavy rain will cancel the class, light rain is fine. Please bring a snack to keep up your blood sugar levels.

Pricing Details

$60 for non-supporters (includes active support status) $35 for supporters; $40 for couples plus $35 each for Boot Camp; no charge for kids under 16 years of age accompanied by an adult.
