This class is an awesome workout - focusing primarily on increasing leg and core strength, but also works on lung capacity and balance needed for those deep powder days! Increase your strength and endurance, anaerobic capacity and core stability. It's a total body workout that uses mostly body weight exercises, pushing yourself to your own personal limits - designed to increase the overall fitness level of any individual. "Multi-sport conditioning!!"
Review of Fitness On Site , November 17, 2008
I have been attending Gina's "ski conditioning" classes for more than 3 years now, even though I'm not much of a downhill skier. Her total body approach to fitness is excellent for ALL athletes who want to get stronger in their core and reduce their likelihood of sports-related injuries. I am a runner and cyclist primarily, and I am able to emphasize specificity in these disciplines because of the core strength and stability I have achieved through Gina's "ski conditioning".
The format? You will be surprised that this is absolutely not your regular ol' Boot Camp! Gina has an amazing ability to mix things up in a creative fashion; she will surprise you every session with new moves, new strategies, new angles, and new ideas generally. You will never get bored!
The skill level? Don't worry if you are just getting off the couch for the first time, or are training for an upcoming downhill ski racing season. Gina's style accomodates all skill/fitness levels in a supportive and effective environment.
I wholeheartedly recommend this class and encourage you to give it a shot!
