Description

We meet on the first and third Wednesdays of each month in the University of Washington Tower's Building C Visitors' Cafeteria, from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. At each meeting there are assigned roles, including Toastmaster, two Speakers, two Oral Evaluators, a Timer, a Grammarian and a Table Topics Host. Through practice we develop communication and leadership skills. For example the basic manual that everyone uses as a guide for giving their first ten speeches is the Competent Communicator manual. Each speech focuses on a specific skill or task. They include giving an icebreaker speech (introducing yourself), organizing your speech, getting to the point, using language, gestures, using visual aids...and the tenth speech is a motivational speech. You are welcome to join us! Additional information is at our club website at http://purpletoast.freetoasthost.ws
