Owning the Dance Floor -- for Women

Women! Wanna own the dance floor?

Whatever you call it -- ballroom, partner dancing, social dancing -- it can be romantic, sassy, sultry, energetic, lively. . . . It's great fun! It's even been called a 3 minute love affair.
But most classes focus on the Lead -- the men's role -- and women don't get much chance to develop their role in the partnership and their own dance style.

In this class we'll remedy that.
We'll play together with the art of interpretation on the dance floor, from the Follow's perspective, the women's role.

We'll use a variety of lively dance music to play with rhythm, timing, balance, weight change, body isolations, spins and turns, floor craft, musicality, styling and more -- so you can dance with confidence and own the floor.

We'll also spend time on partnering (yes, we can do this in a women-only class) -- giving you tips, tricks, safety hints, and helping you feel and practice what good partnering is so you can confidently dance with any partner on the floor.

This class is for beginning and experienced social dancers.
Beginning dancers get the detailed, personalized instruction that may be missing from their other dance classes. Experienced dancers move up to the next level in their dancing.

Small collaborative class in support of traveling dances (waltz, blues, tango, two step, etc.) and stationary dances (east/west coast swing, lindy hop, salsa, etc.)

This is an ongoing adult class.
