Lightroom Fundamentals: Making Your Work Flow

Lightroom is Adobe's image management and enhancement program designed specifically for photographers. With the inclusion in version 2 of the ability to make local image enhancements, Lightroom has become a very powerful program which can dramatically increase the efficiency of your work flow. This two-day intensive workshop will cover the fundamentals of the program, concentrating on the Library and Develop modules where you manage, edit and enhance your images. With hands-on practice using the instructors' images and your own, learn to optimize individual images and how to work through large shoots efficiently with collections, presets and synchronized settings. Discuss where Photoshop may still fit in your workflow and learn how to move between Lightroom and Photoshop. Finally, be introduced to Lightroom's Print, Web and Slide Show modules, with the focus on how to use these to speed up your workflow. No prior experience with Lightroom is required for this workshop.

Students must bring a laptop with Lightroom 2.1 loaded and functioning. Those with Photoshop CS3 or CS4 loaded will be able to follow along during the Photoshop integration section; others may watch. If you do not have these programs, you can download free 30-day trial versions from www.adobe.com. On the Adobe site, please note the minimum system requirements for running these programs successfully.
