We perform all initial consultations in your home. This enables us to see the environment in which your pet lives, observe your pet's behavior in familiar surroundings, and makes it easy for the entire family to participate in the consultation. This initial visit lasts about two hours. We will perform a detailed interview to gather as much information about your pet's problems as possible. Once we've identified all of the issues and triggers, we will prioritize them based on what you feel is most important. We tailor our solutions to fit your goals and your lifestyle. We'll have you and your pet working towards better behavior before we leave your home.

We bring a folder with custom handouts which we've developed that provide educational and instructional information about your pet's problems. We will explain each behavior modification protocol to you. We will demonstrate each protocol and then coach you in how to perform the behavior modification until you feel comfortable doing it on your own.

We will bring the custom handouts, books, and tools that you need to begin working. We will provide you with a written Behavior Modification Report that will document what we covered in our consultation. Once you've completed an initial consultation with us, you received unlimited phone and email support free of charge. We will check in with you weekly and bi-weekly to assess your progress and help keep you motivated and on track.

  • "Did not provide what was promised"

Review of Private dog behavior consultations, August 28, 2009

The 2 1/2 hour consultation in my home with Christine was intense and informative. I was told that I would receive, in a day or two, my report. I was also to receive free email and phone support for the life of the dog. It has been nearly three weeks now and I have not received the report nor have I received an answer to the one simple question I emailed Christine. She found time to twitter 29 times in the 10 days following our visit but not to answer my question or send my report. She has cashed my check but I have not received the advertised services of her company. I would not recommend Christine and her company to anyone.

    Teacher's Response:

I'm sorry that you were unhappy with my service Judy, but I must respectfully disagree with your statement that you were not provided with the products and services promised. Whidbey Island is outside my service area but another client had already hired me and agreed to pay my travel charges. When that client canceled, I came out to see you anyway as promised, at no additional charge.

You received a three hour, private behavior consultation for multiple issues, a folder full of instructional handouts, clickers, treat bag, and a 6 page Behavior Modification Report. I spent 3 hours commuting by ferry. When I discovered you had not received your report, I resent your report and also refunded your money. Your consultation required 6 hours of my time and $30 out of pocket expenses. Despite everything, I also mailed a copy of your report to your veterinarian (more time and money spent).

Again, I'm sorry that my services did not meet with your expectations but you did receive everything promised to you and at no cost. I hope that in the end, you will be happier with your wonderful dog's behavior.

    Warmest Regards,
    Christine Hibbard, CTC, CPDT
