Drum & Percussion Lessons in My Home or Yours!
I am the drummer & percussionist for Juno Award-winning, Canadian band, The Paperboys, touring regularly in Europe as well as the US and Canada. I make my home in the historic Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, where I teach drummers of all ages. A proud endorser of Istanbul Agop Cymbals and Protection Racket Drum Cases, I also perform regularly with several other local bands including Cordaviva, All-Night Yard Sale, and the Eli Rosenblatt Band. My passion lies in creating, performing, experiencing, and teaching music of all styles. My greatest influences have been traveling, going to concerts, and listening to a lot of records during college.
EDUCATION:
Growing up in Southern California, I began taking private drum lessons at age 8 and continued through high school. In 2003 I moved to the Pacific Northwest to attend the University of Puget Sound where I performed in Percussion Ensemble, Underground Jazz, some small jazz combos, and a high-energy funk band made up of 7 good friends. At UPS, I majored in International Business, minored in Spanish, and also studied Jazz History and World Music. Throughout college I studied Latin percussion for Afro-Cuban & Salsa music. Similarly, I became enthralled by Brazilian music, and have since traveled to Brazil twice to study and experience their captivating music. A substantial portion of my record collection is made up of records purchased in Brazil.
Needless to say, I love music and I'm confident I can provide inspiration while helping you reach your goals, whether you want to become a professional, gigging musician, or just learn to play your favorite songs.
So... LET'S MAKE SOME MUSIC!
