CrossFit Strength and Conditioning Program

Seattle, WA

Description

Specifically designed with our Team Survivor power, cardiovascular and respiratory endurance,Northwest members in mind, this CrossFit class for women is based on a core strength and conditioning program that will help you increase strength, muscle mass, bone density, stamina, speed, coordination, agility, and flexibility.

No matter what your fitness level or experience, CrossFit will guide your growth with coaching appropriate to your abilities. If you are just beginning a fitness program for the first time, we will help you increase your strength and stamina to prepare you for a TSNW activity. If you are already training with TSNW we will give you the added strength & gains to participate/compete at the next level. If you just want to get fit, strong, and healthy, this is the place for you. To participate in this program you will need to be injury-free and be able to handle full range body type movements.

Just what is a "core strength and conditioning" program?
You will work with multi-joint, full-body movements (vs. isolating small muscle groups). Most of the exercises focus on the major functional axes of the human body, the extension and flexion of the hips and the extension, flexion, and rotation of the torso. At CrossFit we endeavor to develop our TSNW participants from the inside out, from core to extremity. We will help you develop the foundations to enhance your strength and ability to participate in any athletic activity you choose.

Is this for me?
Absolutely! Increased power, strength, cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, flexibility, stamina, coordination, agility, balance, and coordination are not only important to the world’s best athletes but to our TSNW members as well. The amazing truth is that the very same methods that elicit optimal response in the professional athlete will optimize the same response for our members. Consider that 80-year-old athletes are stronger than non-athletes in their prime at 25 years old. Individuals participating in athletic activities have greater bone density, stronger immune systems, less coronary heart disease, reduced cancer risk, fewer strokes, and less depression than non-athletes. Our primary goal at Team Survivor is to help eliminate the likelihood of a cancer re occurrence and to help our member live strong and healthy lives. We believe CrossFit can help.

What if I’ve never considered myself an athlete?
You’re in luck. We hear this often, but you will become one. The truth is that fitness, wellness, and pathology (sickness) are measures of the same entity, your health. Blood pressure, cholesterol, heart rate, body fat, muscle mass, flexibility, and strength are all measures of health. The CrossFit view is that fitness and good health are the same thing. The CrossFit model holds "fitness", "health", and "athleticism" as strongly overlapping constructs. For most purposes they can be seen as equivalents. Our TSNW members become athletes as a result of participating in our programs. Located in CrossFit Ballard (Fremont/Ballard)
