Description

Weekend Workshops are designed to give beginners an introduction to basic glassblowing in a fairly short amount of time. Held over two days, each four hour class will give students ample hands-on experience as they learn classic techniques such as gathering the molten glass onto a rod, shaping the glass with tools, blowing basic forms, and applying basic color to the glass. Hot shop safety and etiquette as well as proper form are also stressed from the very beginning. By the end of class, students will have made paperweights, ornaments and floats, small bowls and other shapes (time permitting).
