Description

Four hours of classes (in 2 sessions) will cover pearl-topics from "A to Z." Myths & Truths, Freshwater & Saltwater, the Technical Aspects to Buying and Selling.

I’ll demonstrate the pearl making process (see photos on my website). You will learn “How To” grade, price and best display pearls. We’ll talk about pearl farming, natural pearls, ‘enhanced’ pearls & imitations. I’ll cover the proper way to drill, mount and care for pearls. We’ll talk about what’s new, what’s upcoming and the best pearl values in today’s marketplace.

If you use pearls in your jewelry these classes will add to your knowledge and to your customer’s confidence (in you) allowing you “Talk About Pearls With Confidence.” For non jewelers you’re in for a treat on how beautiful pearls can be. You’ll learn what to look for when pearl shopping, how to determine if a pearl’s color is natural and maybe, like I did, also get hooked on this loved “Ocean Gem.”

Pearls have been a part of my jewelry business for 38 years. My involvement with pearl farming in the South Pacific opened many doors for me in the jewelry business. I’ve talked to oysters… come hear their story! I’d like to share this pearl passion with you.

Read my 'Teach Street' "Profile" to learn about my background in the "jewelry field." Also see "About Me" on my website for additional info.

Review of Richard Paille , 3 days ago

I speak from first hand experience, having worked with Richard on one of his many trips to the Cook islands for his pearl business.

Seeing how pearls are made on a working pearl farm was a real education. Richard has a way of integrating traditions and new technologies; yet his methods have a simple goal... the making of better pearls.

I learned a great deal watching Richard interact with the local pearl farmers...,If you want to know about pearls, Richard is the person to ask.
