Danaca Design’s Metal Crafting Center is a joyful, non-competitive learning environment created for individuals eager to gain skills in jewelry design and the art of small scale, decorative metal working. The center is a combined workshop, classroom and gallery space providing a creative, well equipped, and relaxed environment in which to learn, grow and meet like minded people. Founded by instructor/designer Dana Cassara, The Metal Crafting Center is a comfortable, well-lit and cheerful space designed to meet the increasing need for jewelry fabrication studios in the Seattle area.

Managed semi-cooperatively by both jewelry designers and work-study students, The Metal Crafting Center offers classes, mentored independent study, open studio hours, and a lovely store front gallery exhibiting both student and professional work. The center welcomes the accomplished artists, as well as the beginning student!

Classes and workshops focus on specific projects and are designed to present a variety of techniques. Some run on consecutive weeknights, some over the course of a weekend and some are just a few hours long. Class size is very limited, generally to eight people creating an intimate setting with intensive teacher student contact, as well as significant group interaction. The atmosphere fosters a sense of community and support among those participating. Private and team building classes are also available and can be designed and scheduled to accommodate any need. Materials are supplied in the cost of the beginning series classes and most of the workshops freeing students from the burden of sourcing materials.
