  • "A great class!"

Review of Danaca Design Metal Crafting , August 11, 2008

I took this class last month and was very happy with the results. It offered tons of information and insight into the world of lost wax casting.
Jena Hounshell is not only a talented metalsmith with a formal degree under her belt, but a great teacher with real life experience. She worked at a local casting shop for years and has seen many challenging projects during her time there. She covered a wide variety of techniques and tools for working in wax and went over in detail the actual casting process.
This is one of the many classes I have taken at Danaca Desing and as always we had a great learning atmosphere, small class size and all the tools to work with.

  • "Very cool teacher, very cool class !"

Review of Danaca Design Metal Crafting , August 07, 2008

I really enjoyed this class because you could quickly see that there are endless possibilities working in wax. Jenna is an awesome down to earth teacher. I felt that I learned not only technique but really how to look at your piece and how to know where to go with it...I can't say enough great things about her. I had never taken any wax before & felt a little worried that my finished project would be less than desirable but I ended up with an absolutely beautiful ring that I couldn't believe I made. A really great experience. I also wanted to mention that there were about 7 other people in the class and the social dynamics were a lot of fun and something to look forward to weekly.
