Leadership Development: Generational Differences that Divide Us

Seattle, WA

Ages:
All ages
Skill level:
Beginner, Intermediate
Class Style:
1:1 Private Sessions & Group Sessions
  • Taught By
  • Dana Thompson

Description

Many of us are charged with building a culture of inclusion in our organizations or with seeking ways to become "an employer of choice." As our workforce continues to change, it is important that we continue to understand how to be innovative and to take a tailored approach to educating, inspiring, and motivating employees to stay engaged and to leverage the talents they bring.

Join us for an interactive session in which you will explore key events, cultural influences and the heroes of your generation that have affected who you are and the values you hold. You will have the opportunity to connect with those who have similar experiences and to hear how those with different backgrounds view the world and the workplace through another set of lenses. Additionally, we will explore some of the stereotypes around the generations and challenge their validity. These include the myth that all Gen Xers are "slackers" that the Millennials wear flip-flops and don't want to pay their dues, that Veterans are loyal to a fault and that Boomers fear change and aren't technically savvy.
