Description
In this class we'll read selected masterpieces of Existentialist literature. First we'll discuss Existentialism as a philosophy - it is the major philosophy of the modern age - and then we'll read and discuss examples of the shocking, often absurd, and deeply moving Existentialist literature itself. Experience this philosophy's liberating vitality. (Not to be confused with Nihilism or Anarchism.) Discussion of Existentialist movies too. Instructor has a Ph.D. in Classics and has been teaching Western philosophy for over 20 years.
