Marimba, Vibe Lessons

Description

Have you ever wanted to learn how to play the vibes or marimba? Playing these instruments is like combining drums and piano together. You can play just about any style on mallet instruments, including jazz, pop, classical, Latin and world music. My curriculum is unique, and gets students to create music along with reading it. Improvising is a scary word for many students, but when you reduce it down to understanding rhythm, melody and harmony, it's just like learning any language. You simply have to listen, speak and comprehend.

I play along on keyboards for a full band sound. Lessons can be recorded on video. Occassionally, we record music, too.

9 yrs old and up. Great for Elementary, Jr. High Concert and Jazz Band, High School Concert and Jazz Band, and College preparation. I have many adult students, too. It's never too late to learn music!

$50 - 45 minutes
$40 - 25 minutes

Free info session. I teach M-F 9am to 6pm. After 3pm is generally reserved for school age students (25 min. lessons).
