Course nd7980 is a Netdesk exclusive course that combines course 2779B Implementing a SQL Server 2005 Database with course 2780B Maintaining a SQL Server 2005 Database.
This course is a good choice for experienced DBAs upgrading their skills from SQL 2000. This is an accelerated course that covers 10 days worth of materials in just 5 days - to do this, you must have SQL 2000 experience. Some topics will be skipped / self-study (those you should know as a SQL 2000 DBA) and some modules will not be covered to the same depth as in the individual courses.
For complete, in-depth coverage of all 10 days of materials, please take course 2779 or course 2780 individually.
Course 2779B covers creating and implementing data storage objects such as databases, data types, and tables; constraints, indexes and programming objects such as UDFs, UDT, Triggers and stored procedures using Transact-SQL or through the CLR. These skills are used by a large population of IT Professionals which consists of developers, generalists, and IT Pros and are a core skill for anyone working with databases.
Course 2780B covers installing and configuring SQL Server, creating and maintaining database backups, user accounts, permissions, tasks, and bulk data operations.
