Description
This Basic Recording Class will introduce students to the techniques of recording sound. No previous experience is needed. Students will learn about studio equipment and methods used to capture sound digitally using the industry standard software, Pro Tools. This class will cover, not only the recording of sound, but also the development of ideas and production planning. Students will learn how to properly use different types of microphones and sound editing techniques to bring their ideas to life. Students will create a group-recording project in class, as well as have an opportunity to record and develop their own projects. Projects may include, but not limited to music production, poetry, storytelling etc. Each student will have a completed project on CD by the end of March.A strict attendance policy will be enforced. A large amount of information will be covered in each session. If you cannot make the dates due to other obligations, please do not sign up for the class.
