Below is my resume.
As a former dirt bike rider, water-skier, snowboarder, and wrestler, Mick Pearson was born into outdoor and adventure activities.
Once he found Experiential Education and Outdoor Pursuits in college, wilderness exploration and self discovery became his personal and professional foundation.
While attending the University of Oregon, Mick realized spending time in beautiful places, learning about himself through group interaction, and not having a conventional routine was his motivation for a degree in Geography and Outdoor Leadership. He has also minored in Environmental Studies and Business. Mick has been committed to growth as an educator ever since.
Mick's passion for education and willingness to work hard sets him apart from others in the field of Outdoor Education.
He is a qualified and accomplished rock climbing, backpacking, and mountaineering Instructor.
Course Leader & Instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School and for Outward Bound.
Has managed both teen and adult groups in wilderness settings for up to 30 days at a time.
Mick is also a knowledgeable, experienced, and personable rock and mountaineering guide.
Member of American Mountain Guides Association. Certified Rock Guide. Alpine Guide Aspirant.
Has guided clients in NH, Oregon, NV, AZ, CA, WY,NY, UT, and WA.
Past Lead Instructor for the Vertical World Climbing Gym, Redmond, WA.
Has designed and lead rock climbing and backpacking programs at the University of Washington's Experimental College.
Has worked for Mountain Madness & American Alpine Institute guiding rock and Alpine routes in the North Cascades.
Mick is devoted to working with all ages and facilitating group interaction and promoting human change.
Has worked as a facilitator on ropes courses, with corporate and school groups.
Is a facilitator for team-building events for GoeTeaming, (Playtime Inc.).
Mick's curiosity for culture and exploration has led him across the globe.
Has backpacked and climbed in Europe, South America and Mexico, Thailand, and Africa.
