Gail Burgess is an excellent piano teacher who has the rare combination of depth of knowledge, technical skill, patience and experience to be able to work with your child from the beginning and take him/her to a very high level of artistry as a young adult. Not many kids who take piano lessons are destined for a career in music. However along the way your child may learn from Gail that self improvement requires taking risks, making mistakes and above all perseverance. Over time Gail will teach your child how to work independently, how to break down a difficult task into smaller, manageable ones and how to take a meditative, thoughtful and scientific approach to problem solving. Our daughter started with Gail when she was five and didn’t know what she was getting into - and neither did we! She is now twelve and fills our home with music every morning and we already have cherished memories, like her first steps and words, of her first measures on the piano. Thank you Gail!

Both my daughter (from age 5) and I have studied piano with Gail. In addition to teaching solid technique, Gail helps her students understand and love the music. She has innovative ways of teaching rhythm, and encourages her students to explore many different kinds of piano pieces.

Monthly performance classes are included with your tuition. These are wonderful for helping your child become comfortable performing in front of an audience.

I highly recommend Gail Burgess as a piano instructor. Gail has great abilities to positively connect and engage her students while having great patience when working with them. My son who has special needs has been taking piano lessons from Gail since he was five years old. Gail’s ability to modify, adapt and accommodate her instruction to meet his individualized needs has exceeded all my expectations and has helped him to develop his piano performance, confidence, social skills and musical abilities on all levels. He truly enjoys his piano lessons with Gail and is very proud of all his musical achievements. It has been truly an amazing experience.

Our daughter has taken piano lessons from Gail since she was four. We are happy with how Gail has taught her, taking her from ear training at four to trying to be a fast, accomplished piano player who dreams of Juliard someday.
Gail's students are polished performers at every stage of their development, who are unafraid to play in public because of the performance classes she offers each month. Gail is sensitive to each student and is able to tailor each lesson according to the student's (or parent's) needs and goals.
