Description
This class will consider the early 19th Century in France and the work of the greatest of the French Romantics, and more importantly, the 15th Century Gothic era in Paris. Quasimodo, the subject of the novel, is so well-known that he serves as an addition to our lexicon. “Our Lady of Paris,” one of the greatest of the French cathedrals, plays such an important role in the novel that it can be considered as one of the characters.
From time to time we will watch portions of a film based on the novel.
