Description

This class will explore how molds can aid in creating your work. Slip-casting for ceramics will be emphasized, but we will also touch on casting rubber and alginate as well. In addition to these techniques, we will discover how various artists use mold making as a tool for creating multiples for production lines, large installations, or unique one-of-a-kind pieces, with emphasis on how using molds and cast forms can enhance aesthetic considerations such as composition, alteration of form and imagery, choice of scale, and creating a narrative.
