Implementing and Designing Reporting Services (SSRS)

Description

This course combines courses 2793 Implementing and Maintaining SSRS (three days) and 2797 Designing a Reporting Solution Architecture using SSRS (2 days) into one five-day course.

This five-day instructor-led course teaches students how to implement a Reporting Services solution in their organization. The course discusses how to use the Reporting Services development tools to create reports, and how to use the Reporting Services management and administrative tools to manage a Reporting Services solution. The course will teach students to design a reporting solution architecture that supports their BI solution. Students will go through the entire process - from identifying report data to promoting the reporting solution to production. Students will scale a reporting solution. Students will also be taught best practices for collaborating with application developers to integrate applications and reporting services.

Who should attend:

This course is intended for information technology professionals and developers who need to implement reporting solutions by using SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. The target students for this course want to develop their understanding of design principles and best practices when planning, implementing, and deploying an Reporting Services solution.

Design Course Note: "Design" courses are meant to be a collaborative experience and you will get more out of this course if you fully participate and are willing to share your previous experiences with the class. Meeting course prerequisites are a must for this course. Design courses also focus on why you would do things a certain way (versus how to build and implement the technology). The labs in this course are paper based.
