This class will be individually tailored, depending upon your specific needs. Whether you're a student in need of additional tutoring, or a happy traveler in search of warmer climes & another hemisphere in which to ski, I'm here to discuss, teach, and share the socio-culturally diverse world that is Spanish. Degrees in Spanish and Anthropology, an Emphasis in Linguistics, and Certification in Teaching English as a Second Language have given me both the educational breadth and depth to smoothly adapt to one-on-one, new media, and classroom learning environments. As both educator and student, I have worked and lived in Catalunya, Pais Basco, Castilla-Leon, and throughout the Americas. (Kindly forgive the lack of diacritical markers.) In Beverly Hills and Pacific Palisades, I tutored elite High School seniors in AP Spanish Literature, and we had a glorious time exploring the Spanish Golden Age, with the allegory of La Mancha's windmills-as-giants, and elements of feminist, personification, and apostrophe of the Baroque-era nun, Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz. In addition, I have private corporate clients from Asia with whom I work on accent reduction and business communications. Further, I was The Villa Academy's lead Spanish teacher upon first moving to Seattle, where I worked with pre-schoolers (tutoring, outside the classroom), and with 88 students in grades 5-8. As a voice-over artist, I have spent the last half year translating, editing, and voicing daily news programs in Peninsular Spanish for testing and demos with Splash/MSN. As a linguist and traveler, I am well-versed in a variety of dialects. Please also note that, for any multi-media and storytelling needs, I have taught language through film, and am a graduate and scholarship recipient from TheFilmSchool, Seattle.

I believe language education must be a holistic, full-sensory experience in order for an optimal attainment of goals to occur. Language is a matter of need. Language and culture are interdependent. Recognizing the specific needs and true "gestalt" aspect of that which makes us human, our unique ability to communicate, is paramount. In the classroom, boardroom, online, and one-on-one, we work together to employ a host of fun, interactive, and interdisciplinary techniques in the approach to second-language acquisition.

So, feel free to send me an e-mail, and we'll start our fantastic language and culture-learning journey!
