Review of Intermediate Lindy Hop (Swing Dancing) , April 22, 2008

For folks who are comfortable with the basic lindy moves (charleston, basic swing out, lindy circle), this intermediate class is a great way to add more range and versatility to your lindy vocabulary. Each class starts with a set of individual warm-up moves and then quickly progresses to working on partner moves. Partners rotate throughout the class so you get an opportunity to dance with a lot of different people. And since the class is held at the Russian Center right before the regular Thursday night social dance, you can practice your new moves on the dance floor immediately. Classes are taught in sets of five weeks and each new class introduces new material so there's always something different to learn. In the most recent class I was in, there were more leads than follows but that varies from class to class. Pretty wide age range but tends to skew a bit younger, say twenties and early thirties, than the Northwest Dance Network Swing 1 class I took where the age range was more late thirties and older.
