Description
For the past 6 years I have been sharing my love for wine by teaching classes ranging from the most basic "how to taste" to in depth series focusing on specific regions or styles of wine. I am endlessly enchanted by wine's diverse expression of both nature, and man's genius. Part magic, part science; wine is an reflection of our planet, history, and culture like no other beverage.
I am able to accommodate most requests for both subject matter, and class format ranging from an informal "wine party" type setting to focused, academic classes (and everything in-between). I have taught at people's houses, corporate offices, bars, restaurants, and cooking schools. Some sample subjects are as follows:
How To Taste (Components of Wine), Noble Red (or White, Desert Wines, Sparkling Wines etc.) Wine Varietals, Porto: History in a Bottle, What is Terroir, Italy, France or Spain Region by Region, Single Variety (ex. Pinot Noir, Riesling, Syrah etc..), or a class custom fit to your request.
I was educated in NYC's fine dining restaurants and at the International Wine Center in NYC in the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, have lived in France and traveled to many of Europe's wine regions, and for the past five years have been working for Whole Foods Market both selecting and selling wine. If you are interested in the formal classes that I teach regularly at Whole Foods market's in-store cooking school in Seattle, visit the Whole Foods Market website: http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/calendars/RSQ.html
