Description

Wednesdays 7-9 p.m.

Shakespeare's prose and poetry, from which we derive much of our language, psychology and mythology, live on through characters that dare to embody what Shakespeare invented on the page—the human condition. Through examining three genre-breaking plays, “The Merchant of Venice,” “Henry IV, Part I” and “Measure for Measure,” both admirers and newcomers to the Bard will gather fresh insights into why Shakespeare remains Western civilization's “playwright in residence,” his art continuing to thrill and enlighten audiences after 400 years.
