Quilting: Texturing

In this course I will introduce you to printing (putting in color) and discharging (taking away color) with the aid of a thickened paste. This paste will have either Procion ® fiber-reactive dye or discharge (a special chemical) added to it. Silk-screens, stencils and brushes will be some of the tools that you will use. The resulting fabric will have a multi-layered/textured look to it. No previous dye experience is necessary. The workshop does require the use of hand-dyed fabric which students have previously made themselves or purchased.
