American Sign Language, which was primarily used by Deaf individuals in the United States (US), is now gaining popularity in the hearing communities. American Sign Language is now the third most spoken language in the US, after English and Spanish.
Whether you want to learn to communicate with your pre-verbal infant before they can speak clear words or you wish to give your school-aged child a foundation for a second-language, we make learning Sign Language easy and fun to do!
We offer a variety of classes throughout the Seattle and Eastside including:
SIGN with your BABY(r): For parents and their pre-verbal infants and toddlers. Classes are offered around town or in your home in the form of 6-week classes or two-hour workshops. Great for individual families, parenting groups or corporate businesses.
Sign Language for Young Children - ECE: For early-childhood educators who want to include Sign Language in their childcare or pre-school setting. Classes are offered once a week for 10 - 12 weeks at local colleges or 2 to 4 hour workshops at your center. STARS approved.
Sing and Sign: For parents and their toddlers or pre-school children. Classes are offered around town or in your home in the form of 6-week classes. Great for individual families and parenting groups.
Sign Language Fun: For school-aged children K - 6th grade and their parents. Classes are offered as part of the after-school programming at select Elementary schools and range from 6 - 10 weeks of class. Great for K - 6th graders and their parents.
ASL cOoL: For school-aged children 6 - 8th grade. Classes are offered as part of the after-school programming at select Middle schools and range from 6 - 10 weeks of class. Great for 6 - 8th graders and especially those who plan to take ASL as a foreign language in High School.

My wife and I had been teaching our baby some basic signs, but we wanted to develop a broader range. This class is excellent - very well structured with different themes presented each week. Learning how to sign in person is much more effective than from a book and Echo was a great instructor. The classes were fun and engaging. After just a few weeks, we noticed huge improvements in our baby's signing ability. Highly recommended!

We did baby sign language when my daugter was a toddler. Just recently, we were watching home videos and it was fun to see my then toddler signing to her baby sister. It was so much fun to communicate with my kids before they could talk. The class was very useful and fun - Echo is a terrific teacher and we both learned so much from her. It's truly a precious time when children are young - my kids are 7 and 5 now, and looking back - Visually Speaking was one of the most fun classes we took when they were young! Fun, and also useful!! They could 'tell' me when they were hungry, thirsty, all done - or once my child signed 'ouch' when she had a diaper rash...signing really connects the parent & child in communicating.
