My students have had lead singing roles, are no longer afraid to open their mouths in public, and don't lose their voices anymore.

While I've performed professionally for over 28 years, teaching has improved my own performances 100%! I focus on you truly feeling and understanding how to sing and speak well. . .so you don't need me anymore!

" I have such a great time in my lessons, they feel like such a privilege. She really provides the tools to not just produce pretty sounds, but gets you to have something more behind the notes." ~Stacy Brenner, student

Notes:

First lessons are $30 for individuals.

I charge a sliding scale of $40-50 for individual sessions. You pay what you decide is appropriate for you. Two people session, or "doubles", are $60.

While individual sessions devote total attention to you, doubles can be cost effective and instructive hearing how the exercises improve a partner's voice. Sessions are one hour in length, allowing for strengthening range, ease, tone, and improving specific songs, spoken material, or movements.

Call regarding group workshops which range from $250-400.

What a fun and fabulous learning experience. Janet used breathing and vocal exercises to help me to breathe and move with ease. I am forever grateful to Janet for helping me to changing my voice, my breathing and my approach to movement. Thank you Janet!

    Teacher's Response:

For me, it is fun to work with both speaking and singing students, helping people to simply speak or sing into the stratosphere! This student kept losing her voice and had severe neck pain. She had seen a laryngologist, tried physical therapists, Feldenkrais, and massage to little avail. She feels, looks, and sounds better--like the marvelous self that hasn't been let out for a long time!

My daughter began voice lessons with Janet to help prepare for her high school production of the Sound of Music (my daughter was the Mother Abbess). The instruction was great, and kindled my daughter's interest in singing. Janet is very positive and encouraging.

We continued on with the lessons after the play, and my daughter is now doing well as a vocal performance major in college!

    Teacher's Response:

When this talented girl came to me, I couldn't understand how she was cast in such an important role. But we quickly stripped away the artifice and "muscling" to reveal a world-class voice. She went on to learn various arias, learning how to warm her high notes while keeping the low notes bright and communicating. How incredible to see even men crying in the audience when she sang.
