There is a new iPhone app and website called foursquare that has become quite popular. It enables people to tell their friends 'where they are' by checking in at restaurants, bars, coffee shops and other public destinations. And, after you've checked in several times, you can become the 'Mayor' of that spot, and then get special offers from that business.

That sounds like a lot of nonsense, but it's actually really fun and helps connect you with your friends, and great local businesses.
