  • "Spanish to Equip You for Real Life"

Review of Beyond Survival Spanish, July 31, 2009

In all my years of attempted language learning during and after college, Arturo became a pivotal instructor in finally making Spanish alive and real. If you're serious about learning Spanish, Arturo is committed to helping you achieve your goals in an exciting, useful and structured way. After the very first class with him, you'll feel confident about continuing.

First of all, Arturo is extremely skilled at assessing your level, tailoring individualized lessons, and accommodating your goals. In all the coursework, he uses a great, effective method to engage you in conversation. From the very first class, you will be encouraged to interact in Spanish (Don't worry, even beginners are wowed that they can communicate). He's native bilingual in Spanish and English, so you'll have the luxury of his skills in both languages. Classes are lively and sometimes too much fun, but also comprehensive and targeted.

Through Arturo's method, each part of the conversation serves as foundation/building blocks for future lessons. As you progress, Arturo will increasingly combine various elements of language usage --- and suddenly you realize that you're not just speaking Spanish but thinking in Spanish. It's the greatest feeling!

Arturo is really personable, knowledgeable and well-read. One of the reasons I loved his classes is that he doesn't dumb the language down and he treats each student with great respect. Another reason is Arturo avoids lecturing at all costs and encourages dynamic language learning (NO ROTE MEMORIZATION! THANK GOD!) He's committed to equipping everyday people with excellent skills. He's not one to skirt around important material and he will NOT handicap his students with mediocrity. You can really tell that he loves teaching and enthusiastically dives right in to class. Believe me, you'll get so much more than your money's worth.

    Suerte y abrazos fuertes, companeros!

  • "An Intelligent and Fun Way to Learn Spanish"

Review of Living Spanish, September 02, 2009

Arturo Arabitg of Living Spanish is hands down the best Spanish teacher I have found in my years study.

One of the best attributes of working with Arturo is that he is a master of both English and Spanish. He can simply explain what language is doing and why without it feeling like a lecture. He takes the mystery out of the exploration of language and instead engages the philosophical and cultural aspects that serve only to feed your interest in knowing more.

Arturo hosts a fun, energetic and dynamic lesson that has you talking and thinking in Spanish before you know it. He can intuitively read your abilities and help you build upon your skills as your knowledge grows. He is also well read and interested in worldly topics and that makes for great practical conversation. In Living Spanish you’ll learn how to speak with a real command of the language.

I highly recommend Arturo for anyone who is new to Spanish, or anyone who wants to take their language abilities to the next level. One thing you will quickly learn is that Arturo loves language. And you will too!
