Zak Borden brings a broad range of experience playing traditional and contemporary bluegrass, Irish, old time, alternative country, rock, and string jazz. He has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe and taught workshops at major camps and festivals, and has appeared on recordings alongside Darol Anger, Tim O’Brien, Danny Barnes, Rachel Harrington, Richard Greene, the late Johnny Cunningham and many others. With a hands-on approach including ear training, chords in context, recorded examples, and a focus on rhythm and phrasing, Zak believes that anyone can become a 'picker.' Using ample humor, warmth and an inclusive teaching style, he strives to help his students overcome their limitations and realize their potential.
