Alex Borghi has been a professional photographer for over 15 years. Originally from Southeast Brazil, he began his career as a staff photographer at the Folha de Sao Paulo, the country’s leading national newspaper. In 1996 he moved to Miami, where he worked in projects such advertising and editorial as well as free lancing for some local periodicals as the “The Brazilian Sun”, a publication for Brazilian residents in South Florida. His work then took him to Los Angeles, where he opened Borghi&Joffre Studios, specializing in product photography, studio portrait and corporate events. Settling in Massachusetts suburb close to Boston in 2001, he comes back to photojournalism working for the Metro West Daily News, a newspaper owned by The Boston Herald Group. It was at this time that Borghi started his photography courses, exclusively directed towards the Brazilian community of the Boston region. Moved to Santa Barbara, California to study at Brooks Institute of Photography. In California also opened a studio and began teaching photography at UCLA during its Summer Program. Looking to expand working on fashion photography, moved to New York, opening Select Studios.
