  Ali provides insightful, practical instruction in many aspects of outdoor survival, backcountry travel, mountaineering. He breaks things down into manageable, memorable components. He'll work with you patiently, giving you time to practice at your pace, until you're competent. He provides useful feedback, funny anecdotes, and a personalized experience. Enjoy his classes!

  I've climbed some of the highest peaks in the Cascades with Ali and would not hesitate to join him on a rope team: he's highly competent in the mountains, level-headed and trustworthy. Not to mention a blast to climb with. As far as teaching and instructing, he's also very patient and explains things well; Ali really knows his stuff. I highly recommend him for your next outing/climb!

  Hiking and climbing with Ali was a great experience because he is not only knowledgable, but trustworthy. I believe that the most important aspect of outdoor activities is safety. With Ali, you can be certain that he is looking out for you, as he is responsible, experienced, and thoughtful. I genuinely felt that he cared about my well-being during our trips. Ali is a considerate and effective teacher who wants his students to learn a lot and have a good experience. Besides gaining new skills, I also had a lot of fun as Ali is easy to get along with and a good conversationalist!

  I have been on numerous climbs with Ali, and he consistently demonstrates professionalism and compassion as a leader. Ali provides reassurance of reaching the objective, while being mindful of everyone's safety and ability. Along the routes, Ali will pause for "mini-lessons" in mountaineering, explaining how best to travel across a glacier in the safest, most enjoyable manner. Ali has never exhibited "summit fever", and his judgement is appreciated. I will continue to climb with Ali, and I encourage others to experience the wonders of the wilderness - high and low - with Ali Alami.

  Ali has been able to apply his vast experience as a teacher of wilderness survival for the military into a passionate and fun-filled course for us beginners! I have traveled, hiked, and camped in the past but would not say that I am very comfortable when put into situations that may require more experienced knowledge of the great oudoors. Ali has a way of teaching without being condescending. He acknowledges different skill levels and builds on fundamentals to make this a growing experience. I have been to Mt. St Helens, the cascades hiking and snoeshoeing, as well as various summer hikes in the environs of Seattle and have always felt comfortable, secure, and expereince a rewarding work-out! Ali's enthusiasm is contagious and he always is out to have a good and memorable time no matter the conditions.
