Allan has been teaching guitar for over 40 years. He teaches a wide variety styles including folk, finger picking, blues and swing, Allan coaches people wanting to do performance, lead sing-a-longs, jamming and or forming a band. He incorporates music theory, scales and note reading in his lesson as well as teaches improvisation with the use of band back up CD s. Allan likes teaching all levels from beginners to advanced players, kids starting at 7 years old to adults. Allan is also a social worker who makes his students feel comfortable and uses musical instruction to help his students increase their self esteem. As a guitar player you can start any where with any style, note reading and scales will help build a foundation upon which to grow. Allan has played with bands, performed with group ensembles and performed as a soloist. He has been leading group sing a longs since he was 14 years old on extended national and international bicycle tours.
