Alyssa very comfortably took charge of our kitchen. She has a warm and laid back style of teaching. She did an excellent job of explaining, teaching and making it fun.

Alyssa taught, while preparing a gourmet meal for 8 at a dinner party we held--our guests we all very impressed. She made the night stress free and fun. I highly recommend her.

My child has been taking lessons with Alyssa for several months and it has been an amazing experience for her. Her confidence has SOARED as she has been able to prepare a menu and "wow the crowd" with an amazing meal. She has learned everything from learning the proper tools to chosing fresh meat and vegetables at the market. Being able to prepare a healthy meal is a lifeskill and Alyssa has been
a perfect teacher - patient, kind, informative and a great teacher with kids.

My 12 year old twins (boy/girl) have had 3 lessons with Alyssa in our home. She is incredibly patient and engaging with them, and they have already learned a ton (more than they know!) My daughter is already confident enough to find a recipe and prepare it herself, and I am now comfortable enough with their skills that I don't freak out when they're handling knives. It's a great thing all around, and I highly recommend Alyssa for anyone who wants to start learning from scratch or just brush up their skills.

Alyssa was incredibly helpful, interesting, and informative when she came to my house for my private cooking lesson. She answered tons of questions for me and was a wealth of knowledge about the how's and why's of food. The best part was when she showed me a new way to prepare zucchini and yellow squash. All we discussed ahead of time was that I should have some zucchini on hand. When she arrived, she offered several ideas for how to prepare the zucchini and I liked her suggestion of scooping the seeds out, stuffing it, and baking it. She showed me how to make an amazing dish just by browsing through things I already had in the fridge - items that I never would have thought to combine to make something new and delicious. Pepperoni, bell pepper, cheese, onions, and Italian seasoning minced together and baked in the zucchini and squash! It was like a wonderful, super tasty, healthy version of pizza. My husband loved it!

Alyssa is a gifted teacher and is able to work with children of all ages. in working with her I have learned things about cooking and have had fun doing it. She is a gifted teacher and works well with the whole family.

The best part? You get to eat the homework!
