TeachStreet is Closing
I especially enjoy adult beginners, and we use the Alfred Adult series, plus supplements I --or we-- choose or create. I like to teach with lots of pupil involvement! I have animals around and write songs about them.
.I have to add this...I and students have had the best times doing crazy ensemble stuff...some of it not so crazy, but our breaks were full of laughs. I used to have a Renaissance group, Tudor Rose, and we made a CD. We had some fun Elizabethan-Renaissance Faire jokes. Besides that, I initiated storytelling with keyboards, and that allowed the use of keyboard sound effects! I still use some of those ideas in group classes, all ages. I own tambourines, kazoos, a drum, a few fiddles, and other creative noisemakers. I perhaps could use a harmonica virtuoso ... I don't have a harmonica anymore. I like to end classes with allowing those who wish to perform for the class. I call it "Show-off Time". That's usually after a half-hour or an hour of serious work... depending on how motivated we turn out to be. I think a 45-minute work session usually works well. I keep the coffee on for after that!
I will accept new piano students --either on my waiting list or, sometimes, a week ahead -- depending on our schedules. but call or email me any time. That's awpgmusic@yahoo.com or (650) 365-5375.
