About Me

Antoine-DeVinci Hunter is African American Deaf and Hard of Hearing Choreographer, dancer, instructor from Oakland, California and
began dancing with Dawn James at Skyline High School. He has studied West African Dance with Master C.K. and Betty Ladzekpo, and studied at the Paul Taylor Summer
Intensives in 2003 and 2004. He has performed with Savage Jazz Dance Company with Artistic Director Reginald Ray Savage since 2001 as dance artist/Performer/ jazz instructor; also with Nuba Dance Theater, many lead roles with The Lorraine Hansberry
Theatre, Alayo Dance Company with Artistic director, Ramon Ramos Alayo and Robert Moses' Kin Dance Company with Artistic Director, Robert Moses. Mr. Hunter has
attended the California Institute of the Arts and is studying toward a B.A degree in dance through St.Mary's College of California's LEAP Program. He is a faculty member at East Bay Center of the Performing Arts, Youth In Arts, Co-Director/founder of Iron
Tri-Angel Urban Ballet in Richmond, Urban Jazz instructor for Dance-A-Vision Ent in Oakland, Ca, and an instructor and rehearsal director for the Ross Dance

Urban Jazz is my element of creativity in dance. I have a strong Back ground with Jazz Dance and created an Urban move which I called Urban Jazz dance which is a very raw cut of Jazz and modern dance.

I am Deaf and Hard of hearing. I taught many places for many years. I do not often want to get pay for teaching ASL because I feel it should be learned all over the world! Dance and ASL is very power
