Warren Delta Blues" Murray performs 'Hot Blues from the Delta. He is equally talented on both Resonator Guitar and 'Blues harmonica.' while maintaining a captivating vocal style. Warren began playing the guitar at age twelve. By the time he was fifteen years old, he had his own band consisting of bass, drums, rhythm and lead guitar and played local parties. By the time he reached twenty, he had achieved the status of a published and recorded songwriter. Several Northwest music groups recorded his blues and gospel-influenced songs. A guitar, bass, keyboard and drum ensemble called "The Accompany," recorded a tune he wrote called "Sold Out," and it received radio air play around the Northwest. Another music group called "Vision" recorded his song "Peace" on LP. This was the early 1970's and Warren was nineteen or twenty at the time. This group toured Europe and his songs received a great deal of attention and acclaim. Warren went on to the university level in music studies and received a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis on music composition. He has studies many styles of guitar playing in order to improve his skills but has always had a special feeling for the blues. He feels that his music is truly an expression of the heart and soul of the blues and his enthusiastic listeners bear that out. Warren's particular style of blues is acoustic Delta having been influenced by Charlie Patton, Son House, Bill Broonzey and Robert Johnson. Warren plays vintage arch-top guitars. For open tuning, slide style guitar he uses a 1930's metal bodied Dobro acoustic and an arch-top acoustic 1940 Gibson. He also plays harmonica in a brace to accompany his guitar playing and singing. Warren has recorded four CD Albums that are available in Northwest Music Outlets including 'BLUES IN MY FINGERS' a album of 'solo acoustic Blues, with Warren's own personal 'Blues Style' evident thru out.. Warren's twenty years of experience playing the "Blues harp " which is his style of music, has qualified him to author "The Blues Harmonica Workshop Book.'' The Blues Harmonica Workshop Book was written with Northwest harp legend Dick Powell. Warren, with his twenty yers of performing and teaching, has taught hundreds of players the "blues harmonica' and Guitar as well. His classes and one -on -one Music instruction are enjoyable as well as challenging. Students achieve a satisfying level of ability to play Music and they gain confidence in themselves..
