Celine Ferland's Profile

Celine Ferland holds her M. M., in Flute Performance and Flute Pedagogy from Central Washington University and her B. A. in Flute Performance from Seattle Pacific University, Magna Cum Laude. Celine has performed with groups such as The Rainier Lyric Opera Company, The Tacoma Concert Band, and Orchestra Seattle. She has performed as principal flute for Central Washington University, Opera, Contemporary Players, and Symphony Orchestra, as well for The Bellevue Opera Company, Thalia Symphony Orchestra, Westminster Chapel and the Sammamish Symphony. She has also performed principal flute and piccolo for the musicals “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Les Miserables.” Celine is the manager of “A Triem” a classical music ensemble and a member of the Flute and Guitar Duo which offers musical services for special events. She is a former member of the flute faculty at Music Works Northwest. During her service with Music Works Northwest she was a faculty instructor, the director of the Performance and youth Flute Choir and coached the band tune-ups. As well, Celine has worked on the faculty for St. Michael’s Music Academy and Central Washington University. She has been the woodwinds coach for the Evergreen Philharmonic Youth Symphony and is an adjudicator for solo/ensemble competitions throughout the Seattle/Tacoma area. Celine has been featured on the “Live by George Show” on King FM radio and is a past president of the Seattle Flute Society and the President of the Mu Phi Music Fraternity at SPU. Celine has performed in masterclasses with artists such as Jeannie Baxtresser, Alexa Still, Amy Porter and Leone Buyse. In addition to Celine’s active musical lifestyle she is the mother of four children and lives with her husband in North Bend, WA.
