All my friends call me Drew, and I love to teach flying! I also teach barbecue.
I teach at the Alameda Aero Club, where I'm the chief flight instructor. I've been instructing for about 2 1/2 years, but I've been flying since I was a 15 year old kid, hanging out at the Oakland Airport. I teach primary flight instruction for the private pilot's license, as well as instrument flight instruction for the Instrument rating. I also do Tailwheel endorsements, High Performance endorsements, Complex endorsements, Mountain Flying, Flight Reviews and IPC's.
I stress having fun and making sure that my students are relaxed during flight training. Flying is stressful enough anyway. Why make it more stressful?
I have over 1500 hours total time in about 20 different types of aircraft, of which about 700 hours are Cross-country. I've done 4 trips across the US, one trip to Calgary through the Canadian Rockies, and many trips to Baja California. I've developed lots of tricks and tips for safe, efficient cross-country flying that I love to pass along to my students.
I can provide a list of references on request.
