Review of learning french through cooking, February 23, 2010
Chef David and I worked out a budget for our 1-on-1 instruction for my girlfriend and I over email, and with this in mind he built a meal plan for a 3-course meal that included his time for planning, his time for instructing, and the groceries needed.
Two days before the session, he emailed me a complete grocery list. And helped me find the items that I didn't know how to get (i.e. duck)
He came over, and instructed us how to make an amazing scallops dish, an amazing duck breast dish, and some amazing crepes. He left us with a set of recipes, a chunk of pork fat to use to season and grease pans, and some instructions on how to make a confit out of the rest of the duck we'd purchased.Chef David gave us a great dinner, a French lesson, private 1-on-1 cooking instruction, and great conversation within our budget ($150).
Highly recommended.

Review of Chef David from Provence, March 18, 2009
I had been wanting to make my own bread for quite a while and finally decided to arrange a lesson.
David was so knowledgeable as well as fun. He is french and his approach is unique, authentic . I left with a much greater understanding and attitude toward the process, one that I don't think one can get from reading a recipe(s) alone. I am inspired to learn even more now. I figure the money I save now from not buying my bread at the store, was well worth the cost of the lesson.
