If you’re looking for a teacher who loves to teach, is energetic, encouraging, strives for excellence, has a great rapport with her students, and teaches all styles, Cherlyn may be a great match for you. Cherlyn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her students. With a strong classical foundation, Cherlyn teaches classical, Celtic and contemporary styles, as well as Improvisation, and playing with a band.

Cherlyn is an active performing and recording artist, and worship leader in the Pacific Northwest. She has performed extensively throughout the United States and across Scandinavia, and has played for artists such as Natalie Cole, Yanni, and many others. She currently has three CD's: one that is Celtic, one that is contemporary, and one gospel/contemporary album.

Cherlyn received her Master of Music from the Saint Louis Conservatory of Music, and her Bachelor of Music from North Park University in Chicago. She has taught at some of the largest community music schools in the country, conservatories and colleges, and founded and taught Chamber Music programs and orchestras in the midwest and the Pacific Northwest. She is the Strings Clinician for the Christian Musician Summit international conference, where she teaches workshops on improvisation, playing with a band, and technique tune-up. Cherlyn absolutely loves to teach, and finds great joy in encouraging and mentoring musicians to be the best that they can be, and have fun in the process! Her students have gone on to be performers, teachers, recording engineers, worship leaders, and above all, people who enjoy making music!

Cherlyn has a private studio at Kaleidoscope School of Music in Issaquah, and a private home studio in Maple Valley. She also teaches at a homeschool co-op in Renton. In addition, she offers various workshops on Improvisation and Chamber Music at different times throughout the year.
