Rate: $50.00 per hour [$25.00 per half hour]

Objective: To teach young musicians practice methods that will improve their technique, increase their knowledge of theory and harmony, and keep their hands and minds healthy and fit. The ultimate objective: Have fun, of course! This is why people want to learn musical instruments, and as we become overall better players, the more fun there is to explore. So let’s rock out and have some fun!

Musical Background:

• 17 years piano experience; 9 years guitar and bass guitar experience. Mother was a private piano instructor; father was a gigging musician (bass/vocals).
• Played cornet in Penncrest’s Marching Band and electric bass guitar in Jazz Band, electric guitar in St. Joseph’s University’s Jazz Band; led 6-piece swing/bebop ensemble at SJU called “The Jazzuits;” studied guitar and theory for two years under Jim Amadie, a Philadelphia jazz pianist and world-class instructor of harmony and improvisation.
• Recently taught 40-minute music classes once a week at ESF summer camps; performed popular songs with five groups of kids ages 9 through 15 in a live performance.
• Currently writing music as a solo artist, and performing with the classic rock cover band Fresh Heir.
• Educated and well-versed in rock, blues, jazz, punk, popular, latin, funk, swing, classical, progressive, reggae, and other styles of music.
