  • "Chris Lewis=Best Coach Ever"

Review of Chris Lewis Tennis, September 15, 2009

I just had probably my 5th lesson with Chris and he was great! I DO NOT think Chris is lousy at all...I dont know who wrote this last review about Chris being a lousy coach, but he is the best coach I have ever had. I just started to play tennis this summer for fun, and after Chris's great coaching, it makes me want to really get into tennis.
I have even entered my first tournament!! YAYA.
I cannot wait to have my next lesson with him this week!
I highly suggest getting lessons with Chris.

  • "Nice Guy. Lousy Coach"

Review of Tennis Lessons, August 28, 2009

Chris is a nice guy and a very good tennis player. That said, he is not much of a coach. His teaching style is very mechanical and I felt he was basically just "going through the motions."

My idea of a good coach is to see the strengths and weaknesses of a player based on height, athleticism, age, and various other factors. A good coach needs to pay attention to detail and break down a player's strokes and figure out a way to maximize that player's skills based on what they have to work with.

Chris does not do that at all. Chris' approach was "Do it like me." He would then demonstrate proper form 2 or 3 times and then expect me to copy his form. Well, that teaching method just doesn't work. Anyway, if I were going to copy someone's form, then I would just watch tape of Roger Federer play and I could watch it for free on Youtube instead of paying Ryan $55 an hour.

    Again, nice guy. Lousy coach.

    • Cons:
    • Not responsive, Too much talking, Not what I expected
    • How was this location?:

  • "Great for getting your groove back"

Review of Chris Lewis Tennis, May 26, 2009

I've taken 5 or so private lessons from Chris to get the rust off my game as I'm a thirty something who hasn't really played since HS! He keeps the play fun and constructive. Good drills, volleying, overheads, groundstrokes and 2nd serves. He can cover it all. And he'll run you all over the court if that's what you want.

  • "Chris is a volleying maniac!"

Review of Tennis Lessons, July 10, 2008

My wife went to take lessons from him last week and she thought he was great. Really, Chris is so good he's out of control! And in no way does that make me jealous :-(
