Review of Christine Hibbard, October 26, 2010
Companion Animal Solutions is the best!!
I found Christine Hibbard in a desperate search for help when my mini aussie started acting out in fearful situations. I was at the point where I felt I couldn’t take him out in public without risk of high drama, and was at my wits end. Christine came to my home, met my dog, reviewed our home environment, and ran him through some tests with her aussie Connor. Not only did she put together a customized training plan, and assign us a wonderful trainer, Miles Bensky, to work with, she reassured me that things weren’t as bad as they seemed and gave me much needed hope. Within two weeks we were showing improvements in his behavior, and a year later, he is a different dog, able to take Agility classes and making new doggie friends. She uses 100% positive approach to training, understanding that fearful dogs need confidence and reassurance, not more fear. Her methods and those of her trainers are based on science – using both Classical Conditioning and Operant Conditioning to their full advantage. Additionally, her Reactive Rover class is the best we’ve attended. Each dog is worked to its individual needs for space and comfort, keeping them under threshold so they can effectively learn.
The are many things that impress me about Christine/Companion Animal Solutions: her training skills, her demeanor, her communication skills, her positive and individual focus, her personal experience with dogs, the way she has surrounded herself with other experts and the amazing quality of her staff, her ability to look at each situation individually and select the tools/techniques according to your specific needs, her patience explaining things different ways if the first explanation didn’t sink in, her commitment to helping your dog reach it’s potential (no bad dogs), and how quickly she responds to requests. Her pricing is reasonable, and the piece of mind and rapid improvements are priceless. She and Miles have saved my dog’s life, teaching me the skills needed to fully rehabilitate my dog.- Pros:
- Helpful, Engaging, Encouraging, Smart, Patient, Funny, Fun, Good communicator

Review of In home cat behavior consultations, June 18, 2010
I called with what I thought would be a comlicated and costly problem (after five uneventful years, our cat started intermittantly and inexplicably pooping next to the box). Christine said, "I could schedule an expensive consultation, but I'll tell you this instead..." She then suggested a few simple steps that have been 100% effective. These people obviously know what they're talking about.

Review of Reactive Rover 1, June 10, 2010
As a CAS client for the last year, I can tell you, my dog is exponentially improved as a result of what we've learned from Miles & Christine!! My dog is an "Anxious Woo Hoo'er", and had built up barrier frustration and fear, as a result of being an exuberant puppy who wanted to jump & kiss and greet everyone (dogs & people) he met. In my not knowing how to channel all that love, he learned to be fearful, instead of learning he didn't need to *LOVE!* everyone up close. :(
Thanks to CAS, I am learning to recondition these fear factors, and as a result, my dog has earned much more freedom in his daily life and I am able to relax and enjoy our time together without stressing out over every little thing we see that might have caused a reaction in the past. Christine's Reactive Rover class, by being outside and allowing closely monitored / student appropriate proximity practice, is *much* better suited to our needs and learning style than traditional classroom training. I HIGHLY recommend it!
- Pros:
- Helpful, Engaging, Encouraging, Smart, Patient, Funny, Fun, Good communicator

Review of In home dog behavior consultation, May 25, 2010
Christine's incredible ability to immediately cut right to the heart of the causes for a dog's behavior is nothing short of amazing. She was able to quickly assess my Great Dane and give me a plan for action. She demonstrated the techniques I needed to learn clearly and concisely, and answered all my questions. She is positive in all her techniques and has a wealth of knowledge of dog behavior. I've been training dogs and working with nationally-recognized dog trainers for 20 years and I feel Christine leaves us all in the dust. She and her crew really know their stuff. Before I consulted Christine, I felt overwhelmed and confused about what to do, after our consultation and class work, I feel encouraged and empowered. I strong and enthusiastically recommend her to all who need help with their dogs. To top is all off, she is also engaging and funny and obviously loves her work and of course - dogs!
